Pregnant Woman and Toddler Trapped Under Rubble After Russian Shelling of Kherson

Russian forces shelled the city of Kherson on April 7, striking a residential building and trapping a 31-year-old pregnant woman and her nearly two-year-old son under the rubble, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional military administration.
Both victims were pulled from the debris and hospitalized. The child suffered a blast injury and concussion. His mother, who is six months pregnant, sustained a blast injury and head trauma.
Between the morning of April 6 and April 7, Russian forces launched strikes and air raids on more than 30 towns and villages in Ukraine’s Kherson region, including the city of Kherson itself.
Targets included residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure in places like Antonivka, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Berislav, and Kizomys. The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, nine private homes, a garage, and a civilian vehicle.
According to local authorities, one person was killed and five others injured as a result of the Russian assaults.
On April 4, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, killing 18 people, including nine children. April 7, 8, and 9, were declared days of mourning.
