A Russian drone strike has killed a one-year-old boy in the village of Pravdyne, Kherson Region, according to local authorities.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported that the child and a 64-year-old woman were attacked while outside in the courtyard of a residential building. The child died at the scene from injuries sustained in the explosion.
Emergency medical services treated the woman, who suffered a concussion and a closed head injury. She declined hospitalization.

According to the regional administration, Russian forces carried out drone strikes, artillery shelling, and airstrikes on July 8, targeting Kherson city and over 40 other settlements across the region. The attacks were directed at residential areas, critical infrastructure, and social facilities.
As a result of the strikes, one person was killed and at least 17 others were injured. Damage was reported to three apartment buildings, ten private homes, a farming enterprise, an outbuilding, a garage, and several civilian vehicles.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine stated that, as of July 2025, Russia’s full-scale invasion has resulted in the deaths of at least 638 Ukrainian children.
Russia’s repeated use of drones against civilians, including children, represents a growing pattern in its warfare tactics. According to the United Nations, nearly half of the verified child casualties in Ukraine result from explosive weapons used in populated areas, including loitering munitions and drone attacks.
Earlier, Russian forces published footage of FPV drone strikes targeting Ukrainian emergency responders in Kharkiv and Kherson regions. According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, the attacks deliberately targeted State Emergency Service vehicles arriving to assist after shelling.
