Russia Launches a Record Number of Shahed Drone Attacks in September 2024

September 2024 became the first month in which the Russian Federation launched daily Shahed drone attacks against Ukraine.

This was reported by ArmiaInform (АрміяInform), who analyzed the data publicated by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, the Russian forces launched 1,339 Shahed-type strike UAVs over Ukraine, of which 1,107 were downed, and some were suppressed using electronic warfare.

On average, Russia launched 44 Shahed drones every day, with the most amount of launched UAVs being 72 on September 14.

Russia has recently begun using new unified gliding and correction modules (UMPK) which allow them to extend the range of guided aerial bombs to up to 100 km.
