This morning around 8:30 a.m., Russian forces launched multiple Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles on the Ukrainian capital and Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region, reported Kyiv city Governor Serhiy Popko on October 7.

Preliminary reports indicate that all targets were successfully intercepted.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, debris from enemy missiles fell in several districts of the city.

In Solomianskyi district, a missile fragment fell on a school and damaged the roof of a residential building. Most of other debris landed in open areas. A fire, that broken out possibly due to falling missile debris was extinguished. Initial reports indicate no casualties.

In Shevchenkivskyi district, they fell near a pedestrian crossing, and in Holosiivskyi district, one piece fell on a sidewalk and another pierced the roof of a service minibus.

In addition to the missile strike, Russian forces also attacked Kyiv using strike drones. Air defense successfully neutralized about 15 drones near the city. These UAVs approached Kyiv in waves and from various directions. All drones that endangered the capital were taken down by the city’s air defense systems.

“No reports of damage or casualties have been received. The situation is being monitored, and information is being updated,” said Serhiy Popko.
