Russia Publishes Rare Footage of Shahed-136 Drone Launch from Ground Platform

Russia has released rare footage showing the launch of a Shahed-136 strike UAV from a ground-based platform.

Moscow rarely publicizes Shahed-136 launches, especially from ground-based platforms. Most footage of these drones comes from post-strike wreckage or battlefield recordings.

The video, a rare glimpse into the launch process, offers insights into possible technological upgrades. Analysis of the satellite antenna’s radio-transparent cover suggests the possible use of a 12-element Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) in testing.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia’s glide bomb campaign is losing effectiveness as Ukraine’s electronic warfare units jam satellite guidance along the front line. The disruption has forced Russian forces to use more munitions to maintain effectiveness, weakening a key battlefield advantage.
