Russia Set to Launch 1,000 Daily Attacks on Ukraine by Year-End, Umerov Warns

Ukraine requires additional air defense systems and interceptor drones as Russia is likely to expand its attacks by the end of the year, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov said in an interview with CNN on September 19.
Umerov noted that Russian strikes have intensified following Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
"Russia is combining strikes with cruise ballistic missiles including the kamikadze drones," the NSDC secretary stated.

He expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s allies in the United States and the European Union for financing defense efforts, also emphasizing that NATO has provided a new support mechanism through the PURL program.
"We need more, of course. We need interceptor drones financing, but Russia is trying to increase the attacks per 1,000 per day. So by the end of the year, I think they will be expanding them, and it shows that there is no big intention from Russia to end this war," Umerov underscored.
Earlier, Rustem Umerov, said that Kyiv and Moscow are currently holding negotiations solely on humanitarian issues, focused on the release of prisoners of war.
