Russia Strikes Odesa With Ballistic Missiles, 6 Dead, 8 Injured

Russia launched a missile attack on the evening of October 9, targeting the port infrastructure of Ukraine’s Odesa region. The strike resulted in six fatalities and eight injuries, while a Panamanian-flagged civilian vessel sustained damage.

According to Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration and Minister of Communities and Territories Development.

“Five dead and nine injured — these are the consequences of yet another ballistic missile attack by Russian forces on the port infrastructure in the Odesa region. All the injured are Ukrainian nationals. They are currently receiving medical care, with five in critical condition.”

According to Kuleba, a civilian container ship flying the Panamanian flag, Shui Spirit, was damaged in the attack. This is the third civilian vessel to be shelled by Russia in the last few days.
