On March 19, Russia launched a series of airstrikes across several Ukrainian cities, including Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, using 20 KAB guided bombs within a matter of hours, according to Oleg Synehubov, head of the regional military administration.

“The strikes have caused significant damage to critical infrastructure and sparked fires in civilian areas, complicating the work of emergency services,” Synehubov confirmed.

According to Synehubov, one of the attacks in Kupiansk resulted in the death of a 51-year-old man, while a 54-year-old woman was injured.

Media reports that Russian forces also targeted the city of Sloviansk in the Donetsk region with drones carrying shrapnel and KAB bombs, resulting in numerous casualties. The full extent of the damage and injuries is still being assessed.

In Kropyvnytskyi, the city was attacked by 30 UAVs, with explosions reported and drones continuing to approach.

“Russians are attacking residential areas of the city. The targets are Novomykolaivka and Balashivka. There are still enemy UAVs in the air. I ask everyone not to panic and to stay as safe as possible. All services are working. If anyone is injured or burned, God forbid, please contact emergency services immediately. All the city’s hospitals are ready to receive patients,” wrote Andriy Raykovych, the head of the regional military administration, on his Facebook page.

On the night of March 18 to 19, hours after Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke of Russia’s commitment to a “peaceful resolution” during his call with Donald Trump, Ukrainian cities once again came under heavy attack.
