Russian Air Assault Hits Multiple Ukrainian Cities, Killing 6, Including Child, Injuring 14

Russian forces carried out a large-scale air assault on Ukrainian territory overnight on May 31, deploying more than 100 drones and missiles. The attack killed a 9-year-old girl and injured at least 14 others.
Air defense units intercepted the majority of the drones and missiles. Explosions, fires, and damage to civilian infrastructure were reported in several regions, including Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy.
A Russian airstrike using guided aerial bombs hit a residential area in a frontline village in the Polohy district of Zaporizhzhia region, killing a 9-year-old girl and injuring a 16-year-old boy, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov reported.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian forces shelled the Nikopol district, hitting the district center as well as the Marhanets and Pokrovske communities. A 42-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were injured in the attacks.
Additionally, a series of explosions were heard in Kharkiv, sparking fires at the impact sites and injuring at least one person.

In the Sumy region, Russian forces launched missile strikes on the Nedryhailiv community, injuring one person.
Russian attacks across the Donetsk region over the past day killed at least five people and injured 9, with widespread damage reported in multiple districts, including Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk.
On May 30, Russian forces launched a series of overnight attacks on the city of Kharkiv and across the region, causing fires and damage to civilian infrastructure.
