Russian Airstrike Damages Sloviansk Railway and Private Homes, Injures Civilians and Workers

In the early hours of March 31, Russian forces launched an airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Sloviansk in Donetsk region, targeting both the city’s residential sector and railway infrastructure, resulting in significant damage and injuries.
According to Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, the attack struck the railway infrastructure, including a locomotive depot and the train station.

Although railway workers were quick to take shelter, four employees from the locomotive depot sustained injuries.
One worker remains in critical condition, while all injured have been hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical care.

In addition to the railway damage, the airstrike also impacted the residential area of Sloviansk, according to the head of the Military Civil Administration Vadym Lyakh.
Over 20 private houses were damaged, and several civilians were wounded, including a 12-year-old girl. The attack was carried out using two 250-kilogram KAB-250 aerial bombs, which caused widespread destruction.
The head of the Military Civil Administration stated that all those injured have been provided with the required medical care.
Just weeks earlier, Russian forces targeted Sloviansk city center with aerial bombs. One bomb struck an apartment building directly, while two others landed near nearby high-rise structures.
The death toll in Sloviansk has risen to four, with the total number of casualties from the airstrike on a residential area reaching 17.
Among those injured in the attack is a 14-year-old child, according to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, which provided the updated figures following the March 10 incident.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, confirmed that four people had died in the attack. Authorities are still working to assess the full extent of the damage.
During the previous attack on February 10, Russian forces launched an airstrike on Sloviansk in Ukraine's Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of two civilians, including an 11-year-old girl and her mother, according to regional authorities.
Vadym Filashkin confirmed the attack and reported that 14 people had been injured, including a seven-year-old girl. Authorities are still assessing the full scope of casualties and the damage to civilian infrastructure.
