In response to the growing threat from Ukrainian drone attacks, Russia has implemented “anti-drone corridors” in the Kursk region to protect its military assets. However, these measures have proven ineffective as Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike Russian targets within these designated zones.

According to Ukrainian State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko on April 15, the establishment of these corridors is an attempt by Russian forces to prevent attacks on equipment and troops moving through them.

“The enemy is setting up such corridors to shield their equipment from our air assets, which have the capability to reach Russian territory,” Demchenko explained.

Despite these precautions, Ukrainian forces, particularly the State Border Guard Service, have successfully bypassed the corridors, continuing to use drones to destroy Russian military equipment.

“Our soldiers, trained in drone operations, have repeatedly destroyed the equipment moving through these corridors and the groups managing them,” Demchenko added.

Ukrainian units have shown persistent capability in disrupting Russian operations in the region.

On April 15, reports surfaced that Kursk had been “attacked by more than 100 unknown drones,” highlighting the continued vulnerability of Russian defenses despite the implementation of the anti-drone measures.

In related news, the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a strike on the permanent deployment point of Russia’s 448th Missile Brigade in the village of Klyukva, Kursk region. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the brigade was involved in the April 13 ballistic missile attack on Sumy.
