Russia launched another attack against two ports in the southern Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Odesa, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to at least five others, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine on January 7.

The attack caused significant damage to port facilities, including administrative buildings and containers filled with oil.

Emergency services are working at the scene while ensuring safety measures are followed, and efforts to mitigate the damage continue. Despite the strike, the ports remain operational, according to Kuleba.

Previously, it was reported that Russia has stepped up drone and missile attacks on Odesa, targeting Ukraine’s main maritime gateway for grain exports and a cornerstone of the country’s economy, The Wall Street Journal reported.
