“The region was under massive Shahed drone attacks throughout the night. In total, several dozen enemy targets once again struck critical infrastructure objects in Volyn,” said Rudnytskyi.

He added that some of the Shahed drones were shot down by the air defense forces, but others hit targets, causing fires. Fires broke out in Lutsk and the Kovel district, and efforts to extinguish them are ongoing.

“All relevant services are working at the impact sites. The aftermath is being addressed,” the head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration added.

According to Rudnytskyi, citing the information from “Volynoblenergo,” 103,341 subscribers were left without electricity due to the shelling. Meanwhile, the head of the regional military administration stated that no information about casualties or injuries has been received.

The State Emergency Service reported that firefighters have extinguished the fires at critical infrastructure sites. Preliminary reports indicate that there are no casualties or injuries. Over 90 rescuers and more than 20 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Earlier, a Russian overnight assault on Odesa on December 31 caused significant damage to infrastructure and residential buildings, including high-rise apartment complexes in two city districts.
