An overnight Russian attack on Odesa damaged infrastructure and residential buildings, including high-rise apartment blocks in two districts of the city, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, on December 31.
“Another piece of evidence that Russia is waging war against the civilian population,” Lysak wrote on Telegram.

According to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, parts of the city are currently without electricity. Restoration work is ongoing at several critical infrastructure facilities, resulting in temporary disruptions to water and heating supplies in some areas.

Initial reports indicated four people were injured, but updated figures show that the number of casualties has risen to six—two adults and three children, with another person later confirmed injured.
Among the wounded are a seven-month-old infant in moderate condition, a 14-year-old boy in moderate condition, an eight-year-old girl also in moderate condition, and a 42-year-old man in serious condition. All those injured have been taken to medical facilities and are receiving necessary treatment.
“Medics, rescuers, and all city services are working on site. An оперативний штаб has been deployed, and residents are being provided with the necessary assistance,” Lysak said.
Earlier, Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov reported Russian attacks struck 25 settlements across Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region in the past 24 hours, leaving one civilian dead and five others injured.
