On August 6, 2024, a Russian drone attack targeted the outskirts of Kherson, Ukraine, injuring six individuals, according to regional authorities. The drone dropped explosives on a residential area, resulting in injuries to five people—two men aged 53 and 57, and three women aged 37, 46, and 68. Subsequently, a sixth person, a 36-year-old man with shrapnel wounds to his leg, was also reported injured. All the injured were hospitalized with explosive and shrapnel wounds.

In addition to the Kherson attack, regional reports indicate that Russian strikes over the past day have resulted in three deaths and 19 injuries across Ukraine. Specifically, one person was killed and five others injured in Kherson Oblast.

Kherson was liberated from Russian control in the fall of 2022 during a Ukrainian counteroffensive, which pushed Russian troops to the east bank of the Dnipro River. Since then, Russian forces have continued to target the liberated territories with regular attacks, causing civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure.
