Russian Drone Strike Hits Sumy Region Sports School During Children's Training

Russian forces launched a targeted strike on civilian infrastructure in Shostka, Sumy region, using strike drones. The target was a sports school where children were undergoing training at the time.
According to the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov on December 12, the attack was deliberate, with two drones directed at the facility where children in the building.

All children and coaches were quickly evacuated to a safe location. Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that everyone is safe, with no physical injuries reported.
The consequences of the attack are still being assessed, and further details on the damage to the facility and surrounding infrastructure are being clarified.
A day earlier, on December 11, Russian forces dropped a guided bomb on a store in the Velykopysarivka community of the Sumy region, leading to casualties and injuries.
“In the Velykopysarivka community, the Russians dropped a guided bomb on a store. The strike occurred exactly when people were inside,” Hryhorov said.
He further stated that, sadly, two individuals lost their lives in the attack: a shop assistant and a local resident. Their bodies were retrieved from beneath the rubble. Another shop assistant, who was also inside the store, miraculously survived.
Earlier, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, wounding a family of four who were cycling to gather water.
