Russian Drone Strike on Dnipro Kills Two and Injures Ten, Officials Say

Russian forces carried out a large-scale overnight drone attack on the city of Dnipro, striking residential areas and causing casualties, according to Dnipropetrovsk regional administration head Oleksandr Hanzha on April 23.

The number of injured rose again by morning, reaching ten people.

“The number of those injured as a result of the night enemy attack on Dnipro has increased to 10. Four are hospitalized in moderate condition. Among them are two children—girls aged 9 and 14,” he said.

Officials also confirmed that two people were killed in the attack, while one individual remained unaccounted for as of the latest update.

The strike caused significant damage across the city. A drone hit a residential high-rise building directly, sparking fires in multiple apartments. Additional fires broke out in several districts, affecting cars, a store, and other civilian infrastructure.

In total, Russian forces launched more than 20 drone strikes targeting three districts of the region during the night.

In Dnipro itself, at least nine people were injured, while infrastructure damage included a 13-story residential building, a retail facility, vehicles, and administrative structures.

Emergency services continued working at the scene, as officials warned that the number of casualties could change as rescue and search operations progress.

Earlier, Russia launched multiple strikes across Ukraine, targeting the cities of Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Dnipro, as well as the Chernihiv region, causing widespread damage, casualties, and power outages.

On the evening of April 16, Russian forces launched a guided aerial bomb strike on Zaporizhzhia, destroying a prayer house. In total, the Russian strike killed three people and injured 15.
