Russian forces are not preparing for winter on the frontlines, instead focusing on achieving their objectives before the cold weather sets in, said Anastasia Bobovnikova, a spokesperson for the Operational Tactical Group Luhansk on a national TV, reported RBK-Ukraine on October 15.

Russian troops are trying to make the most of the current dry weather in Donetsk region.

“According to our intelligence, the enemy is not preparing for winter. They are trying to maximize their efforts while the weather remains dry,” Bobovnikova said.

She added that Russian forces are using artillery, FPV drones, and all other available weaponry in hopes of securing their goals before the onset of freezing temperatures.

On the other side, Ukrainian troops are actively preparing for the winter, positioning themselves for more favorable conditions as cold weather will make it harder for Russian forces to continue their assaults.

Earlier, Bobovnikova reported that Russia is advancing into Toretsk in Donetsk region, capturing areas that have been reduced to “scorched earth.”
