Russian Forces Strike Kharkiv Multiple Times, Injuring at Least 41, including five children

On September 1, Russian forces launched approximately 10 strikes on Kharkiv. Preliminarily, at least 15 people were injured, including a child and medical personnel.

According to Oleg Syniehubov, the head of Kharkiv’s Regional Military Administration (OVA), the strikes caused damage to civilian infrastructure, with further details still being confirmed. There is also a risk of additional strikes.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that one of the strikes hit a residential area, igniting several homes and a supermarket. Among the injured is a six-year-old child experiencing acute stress.

Later updates from the Regional Administration indicated that nine people were injured in the Saltivskyi district, and six in the Nemyshlianskyi district, bringing the total number of injured to 15. The damaged infrastructure includes a shopping center, a sports facility, and residential buildings.

Update: The number of injured has since risen to at least 25, as more people continue to seek medical assistance. The strikes also damaged a branch of Post, several shops, a sports complex, a shopping center, and multiple vehicles.

Update: As of the latest update, the number of injured has increased to 29. Among them, two adults and two children are in critical condition. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported. The strikes, which are confirmed to be missile attacks, targeted three locations: the Kharkiv Palace of Sports, a shopping center in the Saltivskyi district, and an area near Hydropark in the Kyivskyi district. Further details are still being investigated by authorities.

Update: As of 15:28, the number of injured in Kharkiv has risen to 41, including five children, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

Update: The Kharkiv Palace of Sports was among the targets hit by Russian forces today. According to Syniehubov, search and rescue operations are ongoing as there may still be people trapped under the rubble. One man, an electrician who was working at the site, was initially trapped but has since been rescued and is now safe. At least six strikes were recorded near the sports complex, with some hitting the ground nearby.
