Russian Industrial Sites in Bryansk and Rostov Regions Damaged in Overnight Drone and Missile Attacks
Russian Bryansk and Rostov regions faced overnight attacks involving drones and missiles, leading to fires and significant damage at key industrial sites, Russian media Astra reported on December 11.
In Bryansk, a fire broke out at a Transneft-owned oil refinery following a series of drone attacks. The regional governor claimed that 10 aircraft-type drones were shot down, while the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that a total of 14 drones were intercepted.
Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed a strike on a Russian oil depot in the Bryansk region.
“Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine struck an oil depot in the Russian Bryansk region,” the statement reads.
Bryansk oil depot is a filling station of the Druzhba oil pipeline, whose main function is to receive, store, distribute, and transfer diesel fuel to tanker trucks and railroad transport. It is actively used to supply the Russian army.
According to preliminary information, oil tanks were hit and a massive fire broke out.
Residents identified the fire as occurring near the Transneft refinery near a meat-processing plant. Authorities reported that firefighting teams from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the blaze.
In Taganrog, Rostov region, a missile strike reportedly targeted an industrial facility. Eyewitnesses suggested the attack damaged the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex of G.M. Beriev (TANTK). The company produces aircraft and technologies for the Russian Ministry of Defense, including the A-50 and A-100 airborne early warning and control systems.
The acting governor of Rostov reported that the attack damaged an industrial facility and destroyed 14 cars parked nearby.
Local residents confirmed the explosions were heard in Taganrog’s western district, where the Beriev aviation complex is located.
Earlier, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported that one-third of facilities supplying fuel to the Russian military have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to special operations carried out by Ukrainian forces.
