A drone strike reportedly targeted the Typhoon plant, a key defense facility in Kaluga, Russia, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), on November 25.

The facility is a vital part of Russia’s military-industrial complex, specializing in advanced defense technologies.

The Typhoon plant played a critical role in supporting Russia’s military capabilities through the following activities:

  • Development and production of radio-electronic communication systems, electronic intelligence equipment, and radar systems.

  • Manufacturing components for surveillance and targeting systems used in military hardware.

  • Producing parts for air defense, aviation systems, and missile complexes.

  • Maintaining and modernizing equipment in service with Russian forces.

  • Producing electronic modules and specialized equipment to integrate various military systems.

Additionally, drones reportedly struck the Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot, reported RBC-Ukraine.

Images circulating online show a blazing storage tank. Local sources indicated significant damage to the facility.

Russian media ASTRA reported that 4 oil tanks were damaged in a UAV attack on Kaluganefteprodukt.

At least 8 drones attacked the oil depot of Kaluganefteprodukt, 4 oil tanks were damaged, and a fire broke out.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Russian Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted 3 drones on the city’s outskirts.

“Debris from the downed drones caused a fire at an industrial enterprise. According to preliminary reports, there are no casualties. Emergency services and an operational team are working at the scene,” Shapsha said in a statement.

Earlier, drones reportedly attacked the “Kapustin Yar” Strategic Missile Forces training area (military unit 15644) from which Russia launched a new ballistic missile at Dnipro, Ukraine.
