Russian Missile Strike Hits Industrial Site in Sumy, Killing Three and Injuring Nine

Russian forces attacked Sumy region on May 14, targeting industrial infrastructure, according to the city’s military administration.

In Sumy, a missile strike hit an industrial facility. Mayor Artem Kobzar confirmed the explosion heard by residents was the result of this attack. Later, the head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov reported that one person was killed and seven were injured, three of them critically.

UPD: The number of fatalities has risen to two and nine are injured.

UPD: The number of people killed in the missile strike on the Sumy has increased to three, according to Hryhorov.

In addition, during the night of May 14 the Russian military carried out an airstrike on the town of Vorozhba, damaging residential buildings and critical infrastructure.

In the morning, a Russian drone strike hit a cargo truck near the village of Stetskivka, killing one and injuring two more, according to the Sumy Military Administration.

Throughout the day, Russian troops launched nearly 140 attacks across 36 settlements in 16 territorial communities within the Sumy region. Numerous civilian infrastructure sites were reported damaged or destroyed.

Earlier, it was reported that despite Moscow’s declaration of a temporary ceasefire for Victory Day, Russian forces carried out nearly 200 attacks on Ukraine’s Sumy region over May 8–9, according to local authorities. Sumy Regional Governor Oleh Hryhorov reported that the strikes killed three civilians and left seven injured during the two-day period.
