Russian Soldier Guns Down Unarmed Civilian Near Pokrovsk—Caught on Ukrainian Drone

A Russian soldier shot and killed a civilian attempting to evacuate from the village of Udachne in Donetsk region, according to Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General.
The incident reportedly occurred in Pokrovskyi district. A video, published on a Telegram channel and referenced by prosecutors, shows the man walking along the roadside with a suitcase when he was shot by a Russian soldier positioned in a destroyed building.
The Ukrainian military’s 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, whose drone recorded the incident, stated that the soldier opened deliberate fire with an automatic weapon and subsequently approached the victim to fire additional shots at close range.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has launched a war crimes investigation under Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses violations of the laws and customs of war resulting in death.
This marks the third recorded case this year in which prosecutors have documented the killing of civilians by Russian forces in Donetsk region. A previous incident involved the shooting of a man riding a bicycle in the village of Torske.
According to the military, the Russian personnel involved in the latest incident were later located and eliminated by FPV drones and Ukrainian artillery.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine submitted evidence to The Hague documenting over 10,000 instances of chemical weapons use by Russian forces. The attacks, involving irritant agents and toxic chemicals delivered by drones, violate the Chemical Weapons Convention. The OPCW has confirmed the use of such agents, prompting EU sanctions against Russian military units and institutions.
