The Polish consulate in the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa was damaged during a Russian overnight bombardment. No Polish staff were injured, according to a statement by Poland’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maciej Wewiór’s post on X on January 13.

Wewiór described the attack as part of continued Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities. “Another night of Russian terror,” he wrote. “As a result of the night bombardment, the Polish consulate in Odesa was damaged. None of our staff were injured.”

Wewiór praised Polish diplomats working in Ukraine, adding: “Great respect for the entire team of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs working in Ukraine.”

The statement comes amid ongoing Russian attacks on Odesa, a major Ukrainian Black Sea port city, which missiles and drones have repeatedly targeted during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Previously, it was reported that on the same day Russian forces struck the city of Kharkiv and eight other settlements across the Kharkiv region, killing four people and injuring 10 others, according to the Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.
