Russian Strike Kills Woman Visiting Son’s Grave in Sumy Region
A Russian airstrike on civilian infrastructure in the Khotyn community of the Sumy region killed one and injured three others, the regional prosecutor's office reports.
The killed woman was visiting the grave of her son.
According to the investigation, on October 30, around 10:00, Russian forces launched an airstrike, preliminarily with a guided aerial bomb, on civilian infrastructure in the Khotyn community of the Sumy district.
The munition hit the territory of a local cemetery. As a result, a 73-year-old woman was killed. The head of the community, Mykola Toryanik, told Suspilne Sumy that the woman was cleaning her son's grave at the time of the strike.
According to Toryanik, three more people were also injured.
Under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is underway into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional killing.
