Russian Strike on Energy Facility in Sumy Region Left Over 21,000 People Without Power

On October 23, Russian forces attacked an energy facility in the Sumy region, leaving over 21,000 people without power.

"Today, the enemy struck one of the energy facilities in the Bilopillia community. As a result, more than 21,000 consumers were left without electricity. Energy workers have restored power to them through backup lines," the statement by Sumyoblenergo said.

As of 12:00 on October 23, a total of over 8,000 people remain without power.

Russian forces have recently intensified attacks on energy facilities in the Sumy region. On October 20, Russian troops struck an energy facility in Sumy, leaving over 100 settlements without electricity.

According to energy officials, the hardest-hit areas are the Sumy district, as well as the Hlukhiv, Bilopillia, Seredyno-Budska, Putyvlska, Velykopysarivska, and Konotopska communities.
