In the early hours of October 19, a Russian airstrike targeted a fire-rescue unit in the city of Shostka, Sumy region. The attack partially destroyed the building, but fortunately, personnel were sheltered at the time.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, five rescuers sustained injuries and were subsequently hospitalized. The airstrike also caused damage to the facility and affected six units of rescue equipment.
This incident follows previous attacks on the Shostka community, where Russian forces used Shahed drones and guided bombs, resulting in injuries to seven individuals and damage to energy and infrastructure facilities.
