Analysts said the war crime took place in Sviato-Pokrovske, a settlement located south of the city of Siversk.

DeepState stated that the video released by Russian sources shows an assault group detaining a Ukrainian soldier who emerges from a building with his hands raised. Moments later, the soldier is shot at close range and collapses in the doorway.

DeepState said the footage appears to document the execution of a prisoner of war, which constitutes a war crime under international law.

The OSINT group noted that the video clearly shows the soldier attempting to surrender before being killed.

Earlier, Ukrainian prosecutors launched a criminal investigation into the alleged execution of five Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian forces during a recent assault in the Donetsk region.
