On the night of August 19, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out a drone strike against two Russian ammunition depots in the town of Bilokurakyne, located in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.

According to the SBU, Bilokurakyne is situated on a key railway line used to transport ammunition from Russia to frontline positions, including the Pokrovsk sector. The operation targeted this supply route to disrupt the flow of munitions to Russian forces.

Preliminary reports indicate that Ukrainian long-range drones struck the depots at least seven times. The explosions triggered a large fire, which was also detected by FIRMS, a NASA international satellite monitoring service that tracks fires worldwide in real time.

The SBU stated that such operations are part of systematic strikes against Russian logistics in occupied territory, aimed at reducing the offensive potential of Russian forces.

The agency emphasized that the destruction of ammunition depots directly supports Ukrainian units defending against Russian assaults, and confirmed that further operations of this nature will continue.

Earlier, Ukrainian drones destroyed a Russian fuel train in occupied Zaporizhzhia, derailing the convoy and igniting fires that cut the only rail line linking Russia to Crimea. The strike, confirmed by video evidence from the 65th Mechanized Brigade, forced Russian logistics to rely on road routes and the Kerch Bridge until repairs are completed.
