Sweden Becomes the 13th Nation to Sign Security Pact With Ukraine
Today in Sweden, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson signed a bilateral agreement on security cooperation between Sweden and Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived today, May 31, in Stockholm to participate in the third Ukraine-Northern Europe summit to discuss key priorities, including air defense for Ukraine, joint defense production, and global cooperation to make Russia stop the war.
The bilateral Agreement on Security Cooperation in the field of security between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Sweden was signed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson.
Through this Agreement, the Parties have opted to strengthen their collaboration and alliance, founded upon their shared commitment to upholding international law, fostering peace, and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Sweden has become the 13th country to sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine in furtherance of the G7 Joint Declaration adopted in Vilnius on July 12 last year. Previously, Ukraine has signed bilateral agreements with the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium and Portugal.
