British Foreign Minister David Lammy has reiterated that the West will not be intimidated by Vladimir Putin’s threats of an all-out war with NATO, saying that the UK and the allies will not be “bullied by Putin’s shameless grandstanding”.

Lammy pointed out that despite Putin’s previous warnings against sending tanks and missiles to Ukraine, the West has continued to provide military aid. He emphasized that Putin’s threats cannot deter the West from supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

“Putin said, 'Don’t send tanks.' We sent them. Putin said, 'Don’t send missiles.' We sent them,” Lammy remarked. “There’s been a lot of rhetoric from Putin, but we cannot be swayed by an imperialist fascist who wants to invade countries at will. He threatens to use nuclear weapons every few months. Now, he must end his aggression and leave Ukraine,” Lammy stated on Sky News.

The foreign secretary also criticized Putin’s frequent threats of using nuclear weapons, calling them “totally unacceptable.” He insisted that the UK and its allies will not be “bullied” by Putin’s “shameless grandstanding” and that he must cease his aggression and withdraw from Ukraine.

Lammy confirmed that the issue of long-range missiles will be discussed at the upcoming UN General Assembly. Ukraine’s head of mission to NATO, Natalia Galibarenko, has also expressed Kyiv’s determination to continue calling for the provision of these weapons.

Earlier, on September 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that at a meeting with the heads of diplomacy from the US and the UK on Wednesday, he presented them with a very “direct and detailed” vision of what kind of lifting of restrictions on long-range strikes against Russia is necessary for Ukraine.
