Three senior officers of Russian forces were eliminated in a successful operation conducted by Ukraine's Defense Forces, HUR  reported on their website on December 27.

According to HUR, Ukrainian Defense Intelligence officers uncovered information about a planned meeting involving officers from the command of Russia's 4th Guards Military Base, which is actively engaged in the war against Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region. 

“After verifying and confirming the data, military reconnaissance units devised an operational plan, enlisting the support of the Tavria Operational Group, the UAV Forces, and Ukraine’s Security Service Typhoon Unit,” HUR wrote in their press release.

As soon as the field briefing began, the Ukrainian forces targeted the gathered Russian officers and their vehicles with a precision HIMARS strike.

“Following this, when the enemy’s evacuation team arrived, they were attacked by strike drones deployed by Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces,” HUR added.

The operation resulted in the elimination of three Russian officers:

  • Captain Dmitry Olegovich Nagorny, commander of the 1st Battalion of the 135th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.

  • Captain Grigory Alexandrovich Krokhmalyov, deputy chief of staff for reconnaissance and chief of intelligence of the 135th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.

  • Captain Yuri Viktorovich Fomin, commander of the anti-aircraft battery of the 4th Guards Military Base of the Russian Armed Forces.

Additionally, five Russian military vehicles were destroyed.

Earlier, On December 25, Salim Mukharbetovich Pashtov, the deputy commander of Russia’s 810th Naval Infantry Brigade, was reportedly killed in the city of Lgov, located in Russia's Kursk region.
