US arms shipments to Ukraine were halted in recent days before resuming over the weekend as the Trump administration deliberated over its policy toward Kyiv, Reuters reported on February 3, citing sources in government.

According to two officials, deliveries restarted after the White House reconsidered its initial plan to suspend all assistance. The pause underscores internal divisions over the extent of US support for Ukraine’s war effort.

“There are factions inside the administration that are at odds over how much aid should continue flowing from US stockpiles,” a source told Reuters.

On February 3, US President Donald Trump announced that he is seeking to negotiate an agreement with Ukraine, under which Kyiv would supply the United States with rare earth minerals in exchange for American aid.
