In a private meeting with leading political donors in Florida, US President Donald Trump admitted that resolving international conflicts, particularly Russia’s war in Ukraine, has proven far more challenging than he anticipated.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on May 9, citing anonymous attendees.

The president shared his frustration and sleepless nights due to setbacks in foreign policy.

According to the sources, Trump described his efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine as a growing frustration.

When asked by a donor about the toughest foreign policy challenges, Trump responded that negotiations with Putin have been especially difficult, with Putin wanting “the whole thing.”

During the meeting, Trump also acknowledged the challenges of the war in Gaza, telling the crowd that finding a solution had proven exceptionally difficult. “They’ve been fighting for a thousand years,” he remarked, the agency added.

On May 10, an agreement was reached by the “coalition of the willing” to use the threat of new sanctions as a tool to pressure Russia into agreeing to a ceasefire.

Trump has reportedly agreed to support the 30-day ceasefire, which would start on May 12, if Russia complies.
