UK to Mass-Produce Long-Range Drones for Ukraine in Major War Effort

Speaking at the start of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in London on Tuesday, UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey said the UK will finance the production of long-range drones on its territory, which will then be transferred to Ukraine, European Pravda reported on September 9.
He also stated that UK will continue working with it’s allies to pressure Vladimir Putin into negotiations and outlined the next phase of support for Kyiv.
“Over the next 12 months, the UK will fund thousands of long-range drones, which will be manufactured in Britain and supplied to Ukraine,” Secretary of State for Defence said.
Previously, it was reported that Germany would also launch a program to provide Ukraine with several thousand long-range drones for deep strikes against the Russian war machine, totaling 351$ million, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced.
Earlier, Ukrainian defense company Ukrspecsystems had announced plans to establish a major production site in the United Kingdom, investing $250 million over the next three years in a new factory at Mildenhall and a drone testing and training center in Elmsett, Suffolk.
