President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala have signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Sphere of Security and Long-Term Support between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

Since the onset of full-scale Russian aggression, the Czech Republic has provided Ukraine with approximately €400 million in military assistance and intends to continue supporting at this level throughout the ten-year duration of the agreement. The Czech Republic will also explore options for supplying additional military equipment based on Ukraine’s needs.

A significant portion of the agreement focuses on enhanced cooperation in the military-technical sphere, including small and large caliber ammunition, opportunities for producing firearms and light weapons, UAVs, electronic warfare systems, and heavy equipment. The Czech Republic will continue to assist Ukraine through its initiative to supply 155mm and 122mm artillery shells with support from partner countries. Additionally, Ukraine and the Czech Republic will strengthen industrial capacities on their territories for ammunition production and establish joint ventures.

The countries will continue their joint annual training of approximately 4,000 Ukrainian defenders within the EU Military Advisory Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM) this year and beyond.

A notable aspect of cooperation in the non-military sphere is the Czech partnership with Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region for reconstruction, recovery, and sustainable development. The Czech Republic also intends to open a diplomatic mission in Dnipro to enhance cooperation and assistance.
