At the IDET 2025 defense exhibition in Brno, Czech and Ukrainian defense partners unveiled the UNEX UGV — an amphibious unmanned ground vehicle designed for multi-domain operations. Developed through bilateral cooperation, the system reflects the growing demand for adaptable technologies capable of supporting a wide range of military missions in complex environments.
According to Army Recognition on May 30, he UNEX UGV is a fully electric, remotely operated platform designed for combat support, logistics, and reconnaissance. With a maximum payload capacity of 1,700 kg, it can operate continuously for up to six hours and reach speeds of 20 km/h. The system offers high mobility with a 600 mm ground clearance, allowing it to navigate obstacles up to one meter high and ascend slopes of up to 40 degrees. Amphibious capabilities ensure over three hours of operational time in aquatic environments without modification.
The platform features advanced communication systems with secure remote control up to 10 kilometers and LTE connectivity for extended operational range. Its modular architecture supports a variety of payloads, including electronic warfare systems, remote weapon stations, and sensor arrays, tailored to mission, specific requirements.
Tested and integrated into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the UNEX UGV has undergone extensive field trials under real operational conditions. The platform’s performance across varying terrains and scenarios confirms its reliability and mission adaptability. The design draws on joint engineering expertise from both nations, delivering a resilient and versatile system.

Compared to existing unmanned ground vehicles, the UNEX UGV stands out for its unique combination of amphibious functionality, high payload capacity, and rapid mission reconfiguration. While platforms like the Milrem THeMIS offer modularity, UNEX's ability to transition seamlessly between land and water without preparation gives it a significant operational edge. Its low ground pressure design also reduces the risk of mine activation, enhancing its role in demining and reconnaissance missions.
The deployment of the UNEX UGV expands the operational flexibility of Ukrainian forces, offering autonomous support for logistics, casualty evacuation, and ISR tasks in contested environments. Its resilience to electronic warfare and capacity to operate in GPS-denied zones underscore its value in modern battlefield conditions.
Though budget details remain undisclosed, the UNEX UGV has drawn significant interest within defense circles. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has officially approved its integration into the armed forces—marking a key step toward full-scale deployment. The platform’s combat readiness, versatility, and cross-border development make it a strong contender for future domestic and international procurement.
Earlier, Ukraine has officially unveiled its latest multi-purpose surface drone, Seawolf, at the DEFEA 2025 defense exhibition in Athens, underscoring the country’s growing capabilities in unmanned naval warfare.
Developed by Ukrainian defense company Nordex, Seawolf is a modular maritime platform engineered for a broad spectrum of missions, including surveillance, electronic warfare, strike operations, and logistics support.
