The cooperation includes a major strengthening of air defense systems and more funding for both deep-strike and middle-strike drones. The two countries are also looking to develop shared technological solutions. A specific part of the meeting focused on the future of working together on laser weapon technology.
Fedorov thanked Pistorius for the significant assistance provided by Germany. He specifically noted the importance of German support in protecting Ukrainian lives and infrastructure during the winter months.
The delivery of PAC-3 missiles from Germany was described as critical for defending against attacks during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian minister also expressed gratitude for German support of other initiatives, including the "Czech initiative " and the growth of drone assault units.

Both officials spent time discussing data exchange, which they believe will create new opportunities for technology and improve the defense capabilities of both nations.
Additionally, the ministers spoke about the preparations for the upcoming Ramstein format meeting. This meeting is scheduled to take place on April 15.
Previously, the Ukrainian defense technology company Fire Point developed a long-range “deep strike” version of its FP-2 drone.
The new model aimed to reach strategic distances while maintaining its significant 105-kilogram payload capacity. Denys Shtilerman, the company’s chief designer, stated that the project had moved from the design phase to active implementation.
