Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris signed a bilateral Agreement on Security Cooperation, during the latter's visit to Kyiv on September 4.

As part of the 10-year agreement, Ireland has pledged an additional €128 million ($140 million) in non-lethal military support and at least €40 million ($44 million) in humanitarian aid for Ukraine for this year.

Ireland will also provide mine clearance systems and explosive ordnance disposal equipment, maintaining its role in the demining coalition. Additionally, Ireland will explore further support options within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group's capability coalitions, including the IT Coalition.

The agreement also highlights Dublin’s humanitarian aid and support for Ukraine's recovery and reform efforts, especially concerning its path to EU membership. Ireland will aid in holding Russia accountable, ensuring compensation for damages caused by the aggression, and intensifying sanctions pressure on Russia.

In total, Ukraine has already signed 26 bilateral agreements in furtherance of the G7 Joint Declaration adopted in Vilnius on July 12, 2023.
