Ukraine Brings Cutting-Edge FPV Drones to Estonia’s Siil 2025 Military Exercises

Ukrainian drone operators are taking part in Estonia’s large-scale military drills, Siil 2025, offering their experience and technical know-how to NATO allies. The participation was confirmed by the exercise’s press service on May 15.
“We’re here to share our knowledge and demonstrate the kind of drone technology that’s being used on the modern battlefield,” said a Ukrainian instructor and former Azov fighter, known by the callsign “Ranger.”
According to him, combat conditions are constantly evolving, and drone systems must adapt quickly in response.
“Our goal is to both learn and teach. It’s only a matter of time before everyone operates on the same level,” he noted.

The Ukrainian team brought a wide array of equipment to Estonia, including FPV drones equipped with night vision, reconnaissance UAVs, signal boosters, and an experimental attack drone capable of carrying a 2.5 kg payload with a range of up to 65 kilometers.
During the exercises, Estonian units are using Mavic drones for target identification, while the Ukrainian team demonstrates offensive operations with FPV drones—offering a glimpse into the next generation of drone-enabled warfare.
Previously, it was reported that for the first time, specialists from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense are participating in the development of NATO’s new Science and Technology Strategy.
