Ukraine Can Produce Over 3 Million Drones Annually, Says Deputy Minister
According to a recent statement from Ukraine’s Ministry of Strategic Industries, the country has the capacity to produce more than 3 million drones annually. This capability is supported by both state and private sector facilities, and enhanced by collaboration with international partners.
Anna Gvozdіar, the Deputy Minister of Strategic Industries and Production, shared this information during a recent hackathon organized by Brave1 Precision. She noted that while Ukraine’s production capabilities are robust, financing remains a critical factor. The Ukrainian government can only cover a portion of the required funding, with the remainder being sought from international partners. Notably, Canada has agreed to purchase a segment of these drones for use by Ukrainian forces, and discussions are ongoing with other countries, including the United Kingdom.
Gvozdіar emphasized that the production of over a million drones necessitates an equivalent number of munitions. The Ministry of Strategic Industries is currently working on developing a range of drones with appropriate munitions and is considering standardization to meet various operational needs.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has underscored the importance of drones in Ukraine’s military strategy, highlighting their role in targeting Russian forces and logistics effectively. He praised Ukrainian troops for their innovative use of drones and their adaptability in various operational contexts.
