Ukrainian Navy, in coordination with a unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), have destroyed a Russian ammunition depot located in the Kinburn Spit area in southern Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, the joint operation resulted in a powerful explosion and secondary detonation of stored munitions.

“As a result of effective cooperation, Ukrainian sailors together with a unit of the Security Service destroyed an enemy ammunition depot in the area of the Kinburn Spit,” the Navy said in an official statement accompanied by video footage of the strike.

The Kinburn Spit is a narrow peninsula situated south of Ochakiv, between the Black and Azov Seas. The area holds strategic importance as it controls maritime access to the port city of Mykolaiv and several key shipping routes in the Black Sea.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the Kinburn Spit has remained one of the most contested zones along Ukraine’s southern coastline.

Control over this area is considered essential for securing Ukrainian logistics and preventing Russian forces from staging attacks on coastal infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Navy emphasized that coordinated operations with the SBU continue to target Russian logistics and ammunition facilities across occupied territories, aiming to disrupt supply chains and reduce the Russia’s ability to sustain offensive operations.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian Navy units struck a communications hub used by Russia’s Black Sea Fleet — targeting the 184th Research and Experimental Base in Sevastopol, a key node for managing fleet operations near the airfield.
