Ukraine Destroys Shahed Launchers at Temporarily Occupied Donetsk Airport Before Launch, Video

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed mobile launchers used to fire Shahed drones at the occupied Donetsk airport overnight, according to Suspilne on March 28.
Suspilne reported that operators from the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces carried out the strike during the night of March 28 as Russian forces were preparing to launch the drones.
Footage published by the unit appeared to show at least four launchers coming under attack at the airport site in temporarily occupied Donetsk.

“We stopped the enemy before the Shaheds even took to the sky. Now, fewer drones will fly toward our cities, where air raid sirens will not sound,” the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces wrote in a statement cited by Suspilne.
The operation was part of a broader series of strikes on Russian targets in occupied territory, including two Tor air defense systems, warehouses, communication towers, and other military infrastructure.
Suspilne reported that a Tor-M2 system was destroyed in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, while a Tor-M1 system was hit in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Additional targets included an electronic warfare and warhead warehouse in Luhanske, fuel storage in Aidar, logistics and ammunition depots in Mangush, and a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system.

The latest operation points to a continued Ukrainian effort to disrupt Russian drone attacks before launch rather than intercept them after takeoff.
The attack also underscored Ukraine’s broader focus on hitting the full drone-launch chain in temporarily occupied territory, as such launch platforms were targeted by Unmanned Forces before.
A Russian hub was struck while storing, assembling, and preparing Shahed-type drones for launch at the occupied Donetsk airport, according to brigade commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi.
Brovdi reported the operation was planned by the intelligence unit of the 414th Separate Brigade “Birds of Magyar” and carried out with the newly formed Deep Strike Center
The latest operation followed another reported nighttime strike in Berdyanske, also in the Donetsk region, which Ukrainian forces said left more than 120 elite Russian GRU troops dead or wounded.
