Ukraine can freely use the tanks, armored vehicles, and other equipment transferred by Canada on Russian territory. This statement was made on August 15 by the Canadian Ministry of National Defence, according to CBC News.

Canada has provided Ukraine with eight Leopard 2A4 tanks, several dozen armored combat support vehicles, hundreds of armored patrol vehicles, and several M-777 howitzers.

"Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, and we're committed to supporting their capacity," said Andre-Anne Poulin, spokesperson for the Canadian Ministry of Defence.

"Canada places no geographic restrictions on the use of military equipment that we donate to Ukraine," she added.

It is unclear whether Canadian weapons were used by Ukrainian brigades when they began their operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Poulin noted that Canadian assistance always adheres to the requirements of the Arms Trade Treaty, an international agreement designed to reduce illegal arms transfers and human rights violations.

On August 15, The British Ministry of Defence has confirmed that Ukrainian forces are permitted to use British weapons on Russian territory for self-defense, and a UK source has verified to the BBC that Challenger 2 tanks are being used in Ukraine’s recent incursion into the Kursk region, Russia.

On August 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially announced that Ukraine is carrying out an operation in Russia's Kursk region. Recent reports indicate that Ukraine is now in control of 82 settlements, covering 1,150 km² of Russian territory. Zelenskyy also mentioned that hundreds of Russian soldiers have surrendered to Ukrainian forces.
