Ukraine Hits Russian Army Command Post and Depots in Temporarily Occupied Territories With ATACMS

Ukraine said its forces used US-supplied ATACMS missiles to strike a Russian army auxiliary command post in the occupied east of Ukraine overnight, according to Defence Blog on February 25. 

In a statement, Ukraine’s General Staff stated Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit an auxiliary command post of Russia’s 5th army near Novopetrivka in the occupied part of Donetsk region, adding: “This time, ATACMS missiles were also used.”

The General Staff stated Ukrainian forces struck a “Rubicon” stores and equipment depot near Vasylivka in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

It also said ammunition and logistics depots were hit near Pryazovske in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region and near Oleksandrivka in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

It said an enemy maintenance facility was hit near Yakymivka in Zaporizhzhia region adding that on February 23, Ukrainian forces struck a command-and-observation post and UAV control posts in the occupied Donetsk region.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The strikes were announced as Ukraine seeks to demonstrate momentum on the battlefield, after its military leadership said Ukrainian forces had regained about 400 square kilometers of territory.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine confirmed using ATACMS missiles to hit military targets in Russia’s Voronezh region, while officials emphasized the strikes were aimed only at military objectives.
