Ukraine to Cover Roads in Sumy Region With Anti-Drone Nets to Thwart Russian Surveillance

Ukraine is starting to cover roads in the Sumy region, particularly in border communities, with anti-drone netting to hinder Russian aerial reconnaissance and protect supply routes.
This was announced by Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, on June 19.
He specified that the work is being carried out in areas that continue to face Russian attacks.

“Work is ongoing in certain directions, especially in border communities where the enemy does not stop attacking,” Hryhorov wrote.
According to him, the anti-drone nets are intended to make Russian aerial surveillance more difficult and to shield logistics routes from drone strikes.
On May 31, Ukrainian authorities ordered the mandatory evacuation of residents from 11 additional settlements in the Sumy region due to the ongoing threat to civilian lives from continued Russian shelling.
