Ukraine to Deploy Its Own Cruise and Ballistic Missiles by 2025
Ukraine is actively working on the production of its own cruise and ballistic missiles, with expectations that they will be ready for deployment by next year.
This announcement was made by Oleksii Petrov, director of the state enterprise Spetstechnoexport , in an interview with Oboz.ua, where he highlighted the progress in flight testing domestic missiles.
Petrov emphasized the collaborative effort between the state and the private sector in the defense industry, noting that lifting the monopoly on missile production has proven to be a strategic decision. He expressed confidence that Ukraine will have its own cruise and ballistic missiles operational by mid-2025.
Additionally, Petrov pointed out that Ukraine is producing 155mm NATO-standard shells, which are effective at considerable distances for engaging adversaries.
He also mentioned that state-owned companies are working to restore and expand production of Soviet-standard ammunition, which remains essential. Specifically, 152mm shells, capable of reaching distances of 30 kilometers, and 122mm shells are in constant demand due to their extensive use by Ukrainian defense forces.
