Ukraine to Introduce Peace Plan in November, No Territorial Concessions Possible, Says Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he will develop an action plan to achieve peace in Ukraine by the end of November. He shared this an interview with Japan's state broadcaster NHK, which was released on July 28.

In the interview, Zelenskyy emphasized that he cannot respond to calls for a ceasefire while Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory. "Patience, support, and diplomatic pressure are the three factors for a just end to the war," the Ukrainian President outlined.

He added, "If the US and European nations maintain unity, it will add pressure and show Moscow that there is no chance." The President stated that Kyiv will soon begin detailed discussions with relevant countries regarding territorial integrity and other issues.

Zelenskyy also highlighted the importance of Japan’s support in the interview. "Japan is a representative of the Group of Seven and has provided us with economic, humanitarian and technical support. They came to our aid so quickly. It was the first non-NATO country to sign a security cooperation deal with Ukraine," said the Ukrainian President. He expressed hope that Japan will use its influence as a leader in the Pacific region to assist in Ukraine’s recovery.

Earlier in July it was reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy anticipates hosting a second peace summit in November and expects Russia to participate.
