On March 21, Estonia’s Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine had officially submitted a list of military aid needs valued at 100 million euros, which will be procured from Estonian defense companies.
The requested supplies include unmanned aerial vehicles, land and sea drones, and medical equipment, all manufactured in Estonia.
Katri Raudsepp, Deputy Director General of the National Defense Investment Center, expressed confidence in Estonia’s defense industry, highlighting its broad range of products.
“As a next step, the National Defense Investment Center will conclude contracts for the purchase of selected Ukrainian products as soon as possible so that the necessary materials arrive without delay,” she said.
While specific quantities and delivery schedules remain undisclosed for security reasons, Estonia’s ongoing support for Ukraine remains robust.
The Estonian National Defense Investment Center presented a new measure at the end of 2024 aimed at facilitating the procurement of Estonian goods and services for Ukraine’s military. A catalog of nearly 500 items from around 100 Estonian companies was transferred to Ukraine in February.
Estonia is committed to maintaining support for Ukraine at a level of at least 0.25% of its GDP annually, with the Ministry of Defense confirming that this year’s assistance will be increased.
The country also plays a key role in training Ukrainian troops, leading the IT coalition alongside Luxembourg, and is set to help form and train a Ukrainian brigade as part of the Baltic-Northern Initiative by 2025. In addition to this, Estonia has already sent 10,000 artillery rounds to Ukraine.
