Ukraine Unveils New Stick M12 Loitering Munition for Precision Strikes
A new loitering munition, named Stick M12, has been developed by the Ukrainian defense company United Military Solutions. The drone is designed for long-range operations, capable of flying up to 70 kilometers and remaining airborne for over an hour.
The Stick M12 is a wing-type drone equipped with a single electric engine located at the rear, while the warhead is positioned at the front. It is intended to target stationary positions, armored vehicles, and enemy personnel.
In June 2024, the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces received a batch of 10 Stick M12 drones. The total cost for these drones amounted to 1.05 million hryvnias, approximately 100,000 hryvnias per unit.
In September 2024, the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration signed a memorandum of cooperation with the charity foundation “Humanitarian Hub Zhytomyr.” The foundation recently began working with United Military Solutions, whose production facilities are located in the Zhytomyr region.
According to Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, this partnership will ensure that Ukrainian forces receive new reconnaissance and strike drones in the near future.
Earlier this year, Ukraine also showcased another new loitering munition, the “Bulava,” at the Eurosatory 2024 defense exhibition in Paris.
